Type of Crime Definitions
Against Persons Part I: Murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault
Part II: Non-aggravated assault
Property Crime Part I: Burglary, larceny theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson
Part II: Forgery, fraud, embezzlement, stolen property and vandalism
Alcohol Related Driving under influence, liquor law violations and drunkenness
Drug Related Sale, manufacture and possession offenses.
Public Order Disorderly conduct and vagrancy.
Others Weapons offense, prostitution, sex offense, gambling, and family offense, and all others.
Part I crimes are the most serious and likely to be reported, and are used nationally as a standard base of comparison in UCR indices.
